Not the place to come if you like beaches, as it has none, and with the daytime spent mostly sightseeing, it's a place to come for the more cultural loving tourists. In the old city and port areas there are some good shops available, while the night life is quite vibrant, with lots of concerts, festivals and exhibitions to keep you busy. Food Palma is Majorca's captivating capital, with it's marina and beautifully preserved old town. It has a warren of twisting streets and excellent tapas restaurants. It is a busey working city and has recently been voted the friendliest is Spain. Some of it's restaurants and bars lie just west of the Palau de L'Almudaina and the Santa Catalina district which is west of the old city walls has thoroughly cosmopolitan eateries.
